Csoma’s Room Foundation has been working with volunteers in the high altitude Himalayan region of India since 2008. We will take you through a journey, exploring the way how a heritage conservation initiative slowly transforms into a community development project, focusing on local education, sustainable development and community engaged volunteering. The presentation commemorates that Alexander Csoma de Kőrös, the author of the first Tibetan-English Dictionary, set out for his cross-continental journey, exactly 200 years ago.
