REGISTRATION

Linda Kovács graduated from Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Jazz Music class, in 2007.

Since 2002, she has been conducting her own formations, which represents an experimenter and unique vocal genre based on modern mainstream jazz. Her authorial record was released in 2009 under the title "Teach me Silence", which received appreciative criticism. The band had many festivals and club concerts.

Since 2002, she has also been a member of the Equinox formation led by Tibor Márkus, with whom she has produced four albums. During this period, due to the Hungarian Radio, she was invited several times as a guest to the “Jazz Ensemble” series of the Marble Hall. From 2003 to 2008, she was the member of “Egy Kiss Erzsi Zene” music group (rock, folk, jazz), with whom she also prepared two discs. Their band went several times to different tours in Czech Republic and in Germany; they had a performance in Moscow as well. Between 2006 -2013, she was the member of “Panchan formation” whose percussion instruments and acapella is based on the songs of “Kiss Erzsi”. The band had one record, with the title of Édenkelet in 2010.

Although Linda is a jazz enthusiast, she has always been attracted to other genres. Therefore she participated in a music workshop organized by Mediawave in 2006 and she was also a member of a workshop led by István Grencsó at the Moviest Film Festival in Pécs in 2007. In 2009, the Kovács Linda Quartet was introduced during the Jazz Showcase in the Palace of Arts, and after, in 2011, the “Linda Kovács - György Orbán Duo” performed within the frame of the Showcase.

Her current band is Recycle Trio (members: Linda Kovács, Márton Fenyvesi, András Dés) which is based on jazz roots, responds with modern sound to contemporary reflections. She also works together with the young, outstanding artist, Ádám Bógöthy, double bass. In recent years next to singing, hes attention has turned into composing. As a result she was remunerated in several Hungarian jazz competitions in the category of musical composition, instrumentation for big and small band. In the spring of 2016, her compositions and instrumentations were part of an independent, authorial event with the contribution of the Budapest Jazz Orchestra. Relating to this event, her new record is expected to be released in the autumn of 2018.

She had the opportunity to play together both with her own and elderly age-group. In addition to the permanent bands, she is often invited to occasional jazz events and has had the opportunity to perform with the two big professional bands of the country, the Budapest Jazz Orchestra and the Modern Jazz Orchestra.

She collaborated with representatives of other genres, e.g. Ági Szalóki (Müpa), Miklós Both (Radnóti evening in Müpa) and Bori Rutkai (Trafó)

Since 2011, she has been a jazz music teacher in the Pikéthy Tibor Music Secondary School in Vác.
